Eating together in the dining hall is an important part of the school day. Pupils can have a packed lunch from home or a school lunch which is prepared on site by Hertfordshire Catering Limited. We operate a Pupil Choice menu which involves the children choosing their meals each morning. On offer everyday are three balanced meal choices and the children are guaranteed to get the main course they have ordered.
Pupils can choose from a hot main meal (red card), vegetarian option (green card), jacket potato (white card) and packed lunch (yellow card). The cost of a school meal is currently £2.85 per day. On three days each week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) a halal option (blue card) is also available.

Pupils can also bring their own packed lunch from home, but they must not bring in fizzy drinks or sweets. We also ask that no nuts are brought on site due to nut allergies. Please remember the importance of a healthy, balanced meal when you are packing your child’s lunch.
Dinner money needs to be paid half-termly or weekly, in advance. We welcome payment by cheque which should be made payable to Hertfordshire County Council or payment can be made online via School Money. Please put your child’s dinner money in a sealed envelope marked clearly with your child’s name and class and what the payment is for.
Pupils cannot change from school dinner to packed lunch and vice versa without a period of notice. If you wish to do this please ask at the office.
