School Lunches
Eating together in the dining hall is an important part of the school day. Pupils can have a packed lunch from home or a school lunch which is prepared on site by Hertfordshire Catering Limited (HCL). We operate a Pupil Choice menu which involves the children choosing their meals each morning. On offer every day are three balanced meal choices and the children are guaranteed to get the main course they have ordered.
Pupils can choose from a hot main meal (red), vegetarian option (green) and jacket potato (white). During winter, there is not currently a cold option (yellow). The cost of a school meal is currently £3.35 per day. On three days each week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) a halal option (blue) is also available.
Pupils can also bring their own packed lunch from home, but they must not bring in fizzy drinks or sweets. We also insist that no nuts are brought on site due to nut allergies (this includes Nutella). Please remember the importance of a healthy, balanced meal when you are packing your child’s lunch.
Dinner money needs to be paid half-termly or weekly, in advance. We welcome payment by cheque which should be made payable to Hertfordshire County Council or payment can be made online via your Arbor account. Please speak to the school office if you need any help accessing your account. If paying by cash, please put your child’s dinner money in a sealed envelope marked clearly with your child’s name and class and what the payment is for.
