Fundraising Activities

As well as the fundraising that the PTA carries out on our behalf, the children do some of their own fundraising. This helps them to recognise that they are part of a global community as well as the school community.  They also learn that others are less fortunate than they are.  In addition to this, raising money for some of their own wants, helps the children to respect the value of money and the resources they have.

Examples of fundraising activities carried out are:

Children in Need
Everyone dressed in spots or wore Pudsey headbands, wristbands or badges.

Comic Relief (Red Nose Day) and Sports Relief
These biennial events are always well supported. Fundraising activities have ranged from a Bake Off and cake sale to a whole week of sporting activities from yoga to wheelchair rugby.

Easter Egg Raffle
Usually each year, the staff donate lots of Easter eggs and then the children buy raffle tickets, hoping to win chocolate goodies.  The funds raised go towards playground equipment.

Macmillan Cancer Research

At our cross country event in September, our PTA runs a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise funds for this very important charity.

ShelterBox
We have previously collected money towards ShelterBox. These crates contain everything a family needs to survive when they are made homeless by disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and war.
