With our new Pupil Councillors in post, we held our first meeting. We asked children to think about how we can make playtimes more successful, without it being just about football, which we know many children enjoy but others don't. Children returned with extensive notes and ideas about what they would like and what could be done. We have set up a new activity zone on the Key Stage 2 playground at lunchtime and adjusted the equipment rotas. Key Stage 1 has a dedicated drawing and colouring space and resources. We have ordered a greater variety of play equipment for children to use and are exploring ways to set up other zones such as calm play, reading areas and sensory zones.
